How To Throw A Great Backyard BBQ!
Memorial Day and 4th of July are right around the corner! That means it's time to invite your friends and family over and have some fun.
Check out my Pinterest Board for plenty of inspiration:
Be sure to invite guests 3 to 6 weeks ahead of time to give them ample time to make arrangements to be there.
Bring the indoors, outside! Create a backyard living area with a cot or a futon layered with pillows, a throw rug, and a side chairs.
Create a low table, bring a rug outside, couch cushions, throw some light colored canvas on top and a few candelabras for a great shabby chic table!
Set up a drink station on a mobile cart or console table.
Set your picnic table with mismatched china and dishes for a fun, shabby chic feel.
Use brown or white craft paper in rolls to cover tables for a casual look, easy cleanup, and the kids can color on it!
Use upside down colanders to cover dishes.
Be sure to have citronella torches or candles to keep the bugs away.
Tuck bug repellent sprays and sunscreen into a decorated pail.
Hang lanterns and white party lights along fences, in trees and under umbrellas.
Use battery powered tealights in clusters on decks, tables, and around seating areas for a lovely glow.
Hang a white sheet and project a movie or a photo slideshow on to it.
If there aren’t enough seats for guests, stick with skewers, finger food, pre-butter corn on the cob, pre-cut desserts like cookies, brownies, and ice cream sandwiches for easy one-handed eating.
Don’t forget the music! Pick up a cordless Bluetooth speaker to setup in a central area and enjoy your favorite playlists throughout the party.
Set up yard games for adults and kids!
